With the planet in mind we have decided that rather than sending Christmas cards this year, we are donating money towards a forest of new trees with The Woodland Trust.
The Woodland Trust is one close to our hearts, with one of their inspiring sites located just a stones’ throw from our office. Heartwood Forest in Sandridge has seen over half a million trees planted across 856 acres to become England’s largest area of uninterrupted woodland.
Equally inspiring projects by The Woodland Trust are taking place across the UK including the Northern Forest and the uplands of Cumbria.
There’s no denying that the planet needs more trees – they’re the ultimate multi taskers in the fight against climate change. They lock up carbon, fight flooding, reduce pollution, nurture wildlife and make landscapes more resilient.
Reducing our carbon emissions will never be enough, so it’s vital we grow a UK-wide patchwork of trees and woods and protect the ones we already have.
Whether it’s another tree in the ground, another voice for threatened woods or another inspired youngster, our donation will allow the trust to do what they do best.
