Alice Hammond

Account Director

Always ready with a smile, Alice started her career in B2B PR, working with big consultancy firms such as Accenture. She then progressed into Market Research and Insights, working agency-side with global marketing teams in APAC, the middle East and the UK at Coca-Cola. She transitioned into Marketing in 2014 and continued to develop her career as a Senior Account Manager, working with baby brands Cow & Gate and Aptamil, before landing her role at AL Marketing in early 2018. Here, her creativity, drive to succeed and desire to go the extra mile for our clients make her an asset to the team.

Senior Artworker

With a background in print production, Nick has a wealth of invaluable knowledge and experience, together with the attention to detail to ensure the seamless delivery of print and digital production projects. From one off jobs to large multi-output campaigns, including unusual OOH formats, press, POS, brochures, social media, web content and digital, Nick is our go-to man for all our artwork and web and graphic design outputs.

Ellen Boost

Social Media Executive

Ellen came to AL with a Diploma in Creative Media Production / Film Studies and a great portfolio of experience. She’s previously worked as a contract project co-ordinator for Sainsburys / Equator Design, Marketing & Admin Assistant at Nemco Ltd and Photographer at The Trimley Shop Ltd. Her passion for photography and analytics, together with her forward thinking nature and witty way with words make her the perfect candidate to head up some of our busiest social media accounts, which now include Victoria Place, Addlestone One, Shrewsbury Shopping and Castle Quay.

Sam Moore

Senior Account Manager

Sam’s career has seen him planning and implementing multi-channel national and international marketing campaigns for a wide range of sectors. From travel and hospitality, to leisure and lifestyle as well as retail destinations, he now looks after some of our key clients including large town-centre schemes such as Shrewsbury Shopping, urban regeneration projects such as Addlestone One and repositioning the Welwyn Garden City BID. His keen attention to detail, versatility, analytical mind and aptitude for technology makes him particularly adept at brand development, digital marketing and strategy formulation.

Eileen Connolly

Joint Managing Director

With a wealth of experience spanning over 100 shopping destinations across the EMEA, Eileen’s forte lies in delivering practical and strategic marketing consultancy advice and mentoring and developing teams. As an active member of the global shopping centre community, she works closely with REVO (BCSC) and ICSC to maintain insight and perspective on an increasingly fast moving and challenging industry. Eileen has worked on many award-winning projects including Brent Cross, Bullring, Buchanan Galleries, Festival Place and The Oracle and has advised clients in Germany, Poland, Turkey, Morocco, Portugal, Kazakhstan and Hungary.

Sarah ‘Sharpy’ Sharp

Junior Account Manager

Sharpy joined us in October 2017, fresh from the University of Liverpool with a first class honours degree in Marketing. Having completed marketing internships at Lloyds Banking Group and Webtrends EMEA, as well as holding a seasonal admin role at ASOS, we could see her clear potential. Since joining AL, she has proven to be a creative, ambitious and diligent member of the team, developing strategies for some of our key accounts, event planning and management and daily client services assistance on a number of our key clients.

Geoffrey Bean

Executive Creative Director

Geoffrey is a multi-award-winning creative director and entrepreneur with over thirty years’ advertising and marketing experience. He has developed and produced major campaigns for many household names including Twinings Tea, Milupa Baby Food, British Coal, Speedwing, Travelodge, Pentax, Unilever, Standard Life Investments and British Land. His many accolades include ten BCSC Purple Apples, seven ICSC Jean Solal Awards, five ICSC Maxi Awards and the ICSC Best of the Best Award. He brings a wealth of experience and creative insight to AL to steer and inspire creative direction on key campaigns and activations.

Kim McBride

Finance Manager

As finance manager at AL for 20 years, Kim keeps the cash flowing in and out of AL – keeping our clients, suppliers and staff happy. She’s chief purchase invoice payer and sales invoice raiser, bank reconciliator and expenses paymaster. Happiest with a calculator in hand and highly organised, she loves nothing more than when everything adds up!

Alan Thornton

Joint Managing Director

Alan has worked at senior level within the retail destination sector for over 25 years, including international marketing roles at Clarks and Topshop – during their global expansion period. He’s also held senior director positions with property specialists Donaldsons and DTZ and worked with destination specialists, MindFolio. His brand portfolio includes Covent Garden Market, Carnaby and Whiteleys in the UK, plus Arena Plaza, Budapest; Centrum Galerie, Dresden; and Morocco Mall in Casablanca. Currently chair of the Solal Awards, he has played active roles within ICSC and REVO and co-authored the REVO guide to Marketing KPI’s and Evaluation.

Sophia Sellick

Graphic Designer

Joining us from Selfridges & Co., Sophia came to AL with hands-on practical experience in graphic design, production and installation, and valuable insight into the mechanics of a major retail environment following her BA Hons in Graphic Design at Middlesex University. Since joining AL Marketing in February 2019, she’s worked on a variety of design and artworking projects including B2C events marketing collateral, B2B brochure design, digital and web.

Sarah Gregory

Client Services Director

Having graduated from the University of East Anglia with a 2:1 in law, Sarah made the move into PR and Marketing. With over thirteen years in the industry, she has worked on some of the most iconic retail destinations in the UK including intu Trafford Centre, as well as schemes including Market Place, Shrewsbury Shopping, The Brunswick Centre, Victoria Place, Castle Quay and Hatfield House. She led the team responsible for the award-winning Mannequin Challenge for Market Place, Bolton in 2017 and specialises in PR, media buying and event planning.

Damian Smith

Creative Director

With a BA Hons in Graphic Design and Illustration from DeMontfort, Damian’s wealth of creative experience has seen him working on a variety of brands in hospitality, utilities, automotive, medical, property, magazines, veterinary medicine and now, retail – making him an incredibly versatile creative. His key skills lie in the art direction of photo shoots, videos, web design, print media, campaigns and the development of creative concepts. Now heading up the creative team at AL Marketing, he oversees the agency’s creative output for all clients, as well as personally producing creative solutions on numerous projects.

Emily Hill

Account Executive

Emily recently graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a first-class honours degree in Event Management and Marketing. She joined AL Marketing in June 2019 on a Graduate Internship through the Santander Internship Scheme and she was that good, we just couldn’t let her escape! During her degree she completed an industrial placement at Hertfordshire Sports Village, which involved project management, focussing predominately on social media marketing and event management. At AL, her creativity and willingness to learn shine through and she’s our go-to for tracking down the latest must-have event attraction.

Karina Barden


A planner, multi-tasker, chief organiser and train and plane ticket-booker, Karina ensures the timely delivery of projects to clients and team members to your doors, among her many responsibilities. Before joining us at AL Marketing 10 years ago, Karina spent 10 years working for the marketing director’s office of a large telecommunications company. Here at AL, her role has changed and adapted with the demands of the industry.

Amie Pomfrett

Senior Account Manager

She’s developed creative advertising solutions for brands including Empire, Q, Kerrang! and MOJO at Bauer Media. She’s used digital technology and music to elevate a brand experience and connect customers to retail, hospitality and leisure spaces at Kaleidovision and she’s account managed a portfolio of premium hotels, bars, restaurants and retailers including COMO resorts, Harvey Nichols, Sushi Samba, Mulberry, Claridges and The Savoy at Music Concierge. With over 15 years within media, advertising and marketing, Amie has a passion for delivering creative solutions and an extensive knowledge of entertainment / lifestyle / FMCG / retail and leisure brands.

Gabrielle La Mura

Social Media Executive

No stranger to the retail industry, our newest recruit, TV and Video production graduate, Gabrielle joined us from a publishing company in Milton Keynes, covering brands including Tesco, Aldi, Asda and many more. She’s managed her clients’ social media channels at numerous events including the ‘Women In Meat Industry Awards’ and ‘UK Sausage Week’. Her attention to detail is second to none and her writing skills, social media and digital marketing know-how are on point, so our social media accounts are in safe hands.

Digital Marketing Strategist

Nesli’s commitment to digital storytelling via a combination of technical know-how, on-trend content creation, influencer relations and marketing savvy, means that she can can pin-point and take advantage of the digital opportunities available to all of AL’s clients. Beginning her career by attaining a BA Hons in Architecture before evolving into the Certified Digital Marketer she is today, Nesli’s approach combines use of various media across all the relevant marketing channels and platforms into actionable plans that achieve measurable results. Nesli has over 8 years of digital marketing experience both in the UK and internationally, for brands such as RedBull, Ducati, Yamaha and Jack Daniels, and across the fashion, sports, automotive and retail sectors.

A.L. Marketing is an award winning creative agency, located just a short hop from the centre of London (25 minutes from Kings Cross by train), in leafy Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

We’re currently looking for an energetic Social Media Executive to help manage our client’s social media channels. We specialise in the fast moving world of retail, destination, fashion, leisure marketing and communications so no two days are ever the same!

We’re a friendly, down to earth bunch and with all of our clients in the retail and leisure sector, this is a great opportunity for a confident individual with a keen interest in planning, content creation and all things social, to get their foot in the door in this exciting and rapidly evolving industry.

Our ideal candidate will be digitally savvy and have experience with social media across all channels. You will also possess strong attention to detail, differentiate tone of voice between clients, have the ability to manage multiple client accounts and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

You should be able to work collaboratively and report to other members of the team, including Social Media Manager, Digital Strategist, Client Services and Art Directors as well as the ability to work independently to create exciting and engaging content.



  • Monthly reporting and on-going basic data analysis
  • Sourcing curated photography from head offices, suppliers and social platforms for use across social media and digital channels
  • Planning ahead using content calendars, whilst uploading and scheduling social media posts via Hootsuite
  • Social media advertising
  • Liaise with store managers, retailers, customers, competition winners etc
  • Visit our clients/retailers on-site on a monthly basis
  • Monitoring of social media channels and acting on any engagement appropriately (some out of hours cover may be required)
  • Staying on top of current and emerging social media, technology and popular cultural trends and an aptitude for applying these in social media campaign concepts
  • Contributing to new business pitches and presentations
  • General team/admin support
  • Knowledge of Facebook compliancy and how to structure a compliant ad

This candidate will be given frequent training to have the opportunity to progress further in the social and digital field, as well as progressing into other areas of the business, should they demonstrate flair.
