Tackling the issue of communication whilst wearing face masks

OBJECTIVE

As face masks became mandatory in shopping centres, it poses one significant question for a sector of society.  How do people who are hard of hearing or deaf, communicate with others when they rely so much on lip movements and facial expressions?

METHOD

AL Marketing has tried to tackle this issue by providing customers at its shopping centres with some basic sign language techniques that were shared on social media.

OUTCOME

The response has been great and people have really appreciated the tips shared!

On Facebook, Castle Quay achieved an incredible 5.6K impressions and 563 engagements (including 54 shares) within 3 days. Additionally, Shrewsbury Shopping received 3.5K impressions and 447 engagements on Twitter within 3 days.
