Setting the style of things to come in Banbury

Castle Quay, Banbury

Creativity & Production

OBJECTIVE

Banbury is in the midst of a period of massive change, with the town’s shopping centre ‘Castle Quay’ undergoing a huge, transformative redevelopment and extension. We were appointed by the owners, Cherwell District Council, to support them through this challenging period with a consumer campaign that communicated ‘business as usual’ and tactical messages, as well as introducing the promise of things to come. The creative had to incorporate a sense of local pride and have a strong identity that was memorable and aspirational.

METHOD

AL Marketing presented several potential creative solutions that met the requirements of the brief. One however stood out for the client, with the centre’s canal-side heritage reflected in the watercolour treatment applied to all imagery, which exuded a quintessentially Cotswolds quality to appeal to our more affluent target audience. The tone of voice was upbeat and positive, with a strong call to action, further reinforcing the brand.

OUTCOME

The creative has been well received by the client, tenants and customers alike,
with strong attendance at events featured on creative to date.
