OBJECTIVES

Our challenge was to help market the town centre as inclusive, modern, and reflecting the different cultures within Romford and ultimately to create a sense of pride in the town centre by its businesses, residents, and visitors. In addition, drive footfall to the town and sales / bookings for BID levy payers.

PLAN

We worked with authentic Chinese performers to put on a showstopping Chinese New Year event in the centre of Romford.  This included organising and advertising several performances, including traditional Chinese lion and dragon performers, ribbon and fan dancers, dolly head performers, stilt walkers, live music, face painting and sampling with local BID payers that had a Chinese offer.

OUTCOME

The Chinese event experienced a footfall increase week on week of 23.5%, and it was a wet weather day so even more impressive. We gained over 1,000 responses to the Facebook Event Page, as well as gaining 100 new followers across Facebook and Instagram. The following totals were gained across this Social Media campaign; Total Reach: 29,112, Total Impressions: 43,003 and Total Engagements: 2,114.
