Pilgrim Bandits

Vicar Lane, Chesterfield

PR & Media

OBJECTIVES

To raise the profile of the Centre in press by showcasing CSR.

METHOD

Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, Chesterfield partnered with The Pilgrim Bandits to show support for a charity that helps so many people affected by their service in the armed forces. The charity enlisted the help of independent craftsman Dougie Smith, who turns military uniforms into beautifully upholstered chairs. Working with two uniforms belonging to Britain’s most injured soldier, Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson MBE, they arranged the production of two chairs using his Black and Red Stripe mess dress and Khaki No2’s uniform. The first was gifted to Ben as a gift for all the charity work he does, while the second was raffled, with all proceeds going to charity.

OUTCOME

The initiative received interest on a local level as well as being picked up on a national level by the Daily Mail. See the full article here.
