To create a hub of activity that firmly positions Castle Quay at the heart of the community, with the overall objective of increasing footfall to the centre.
Coming on board in August 2019, we immediately recommended moving away from expensive one hit wonder events. Instead we concentrated on forming partnerships with small enterprises in the local community, to run activity for key seasonal events, over longer periods of time. This would allow Castle Quay to become a well-known destination for putting on great, free, community-centric events. We started with a focus on Halloween.
With free activity every day in the run up to the spookiest night of the year, Castle Quay became the destination for Halloween in Banbury and the centre experienced 12% uplift in its weekly footfall compared to the previous week.
