Challenging the traditional leasing model

Waverley Mall

Leasing Support & Added Value

OBJECTIVE

The old established leasing model is no longer relevant for today’s landlords, tenants or shoppers. So, we’ve been exploring new ways to challenge the norm and bring a fresh way to look at leasing.

METHOD

At Waverley Mall, Edinburgh, we introduced renowned designer Kestin Hare and his team at Custom Lane to our client Moorgarth. From this we have forged a productive partnership with architects, marketers and asset teams – all collaborating to reposition the entire Waverley Mall brand experience.

The approach covers everything from the interior design of the mall and the customer service experience, through to new revenue opportunities such as the introduction of Williams and Johnson – a contemporary coffee retailer – into an otherwise redundant area of the mall.

OUTCOME

Williams & Johnson is now the second-highest grossing store in the centre. The new approach  has caused shoppers, as well as potential retailers, to look at Waverley Mall in a totally new way, shoring-up the scheme’s footfall and bolstering sales performance.
