After a challenging 2022, we were on a mission to make Christmas merrier and brighter for everyone. Christmas can be costly and given the cost-of-living crisis we wanted to create an experience the whole community could enjoy on a regular basis for free.
We created a 24/7 attraction which would work un-manned and transform a large empty unit into an enthralling Christmas space, which was open every day between 9:30am and 5pm, even when Santa wasn’t visiting. Children were also able to post their Christmas wishes to Santa in a magical post box in the unit. Families did not need to book and could just show up on the day to enjoy the experience. Santa and elf visits were then scheduled for late night shopping evenings and Saturdays in the run up to Christmas.
Coverage worth £195,000 secured, including an article in the Sun newspaper worth a whopping £168k.
We gained 40,600 impressions, 5,199 engagement on social media. On Santa visit days we had 200 visitors.
A newsletter was sent to our database promoting the event, which had an open rate of 27.1%, compared to 21.3% the year before. With over 700 pageviews of the website event page.
